Dr. Julie A. Donnelly has a Ph.D. in Special Education with a focus area in autism and over 30 years of teaching experience. Julie gives workshops and trainings on autism and consults with families, schools and agencies, assisting them to create programs and supports. Julie teaches at the University of Missouri - Columbia, in their Masters program in Autism. Dr. Donnelly speaks at national and international conferences and publishes in the autism and special education areas.
Julie Donnelly's son - Jean-Paul Bovee - was diagnosed with autism at 3 1/2. Jean-Paul now has two Masters degrees and is a Librarian, Information Specialist and a Disability Rights activist. Jean-Paul has been the vice-president of the Western Missouri chapter of the Autism Society of America, president of Missouri TASH, and co-advisor of the area People First. Jean-Paul resides in Kansas City with his wife and son. Jean-Paul speaks widely on his experience with autism.
